Keen to dip you toe in the water? Then come and join us for a “Discover Sailing Experience” to get out on the water and feel the wind in your hair.
Our experienced sailing instructors will give you a taste of what sailing is all about aboard a Pacer dinghy. You will spend around 2½ blissful hours learning basic sailing skills, terminology and boat handling maneuvers.
It’s a unique opportunity to spend some time on beautiful Port Stephens without having to buy your own sailboat. It might just whet your appetite to join the Bay Sailing Centre’s Laser racing fleet or another class.
The O’Pen Skiff dinghies are most suitable to kids (7-12yrs). The Pacer dinghies are a larger boat with two sails which are suitable for two people to come and try sailing – consider adult and child, or even two adults (recommended maximum crew weight 150 kilograms).
All you need is comfortable swimmers, boardshorts, rash shirt or t-shirt (anything you don’t mind getting wet in) including closed-toe shoes, hat and sunscreen. We supply the lifejacket. Be sure to bring along a towel and change of clothes for when you’re finished.
